New Delhi: Direct selling FMCG firm Amway India has bagged the 2018 best corporate award under the ‘Specially-abled’ category organised by the CSR Times.
The award, which was presented by Union Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu, recognised Amway’s work towards the welfare of visually impaired individuals, the company statement said.
The company started CSR initiatives in 1999 with the National Project to provide opportunities of quality education to visually impaired, thereby improving their employment prospects.
Under this project, Amway has launched Braille textbooks, audio books and libraries, computer training centers, BPOs, and several other initiatives, which has helped in increasing the education prospects of the visually impaired individuals.
So far, the project has impacted lives of over 2.5 lakh visually impaired individuals.
