Hyderabad: Agastya International Foundation (Agastya) and Honeywell India have decided to expand the ‘Honeywell Science Experience’ to Hyderabad, Chennai, Madurai, and Mysore.

Launched in August 2016, Honeywell Science Experience targets middle and high school students and teachers in government schools.

The experiential science education program for students and teachers of government schools is already “running successfully” in Bengaluru, Gurugram, Delhi, and Pune.

“We are living in the fourth industrial era where application-based education will have a more profound impact on students, making them skilled citizens of tomorrow. Experiential learning improves critical thinking and helps students apply classroom concepts to real-world challenges,” said Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary in Department of Commerce, Industries and IT, Telangana government.

As part of this education program, Honeywell Hometown Solutions India Foundation is supporting 25 science centers, 35 mobile science labs, and 3,000 student mentors, benefiting more than 1.35 lakh students and 783 teachers.

Agastya, a charitable education trust, runs one of the world’s largest mobile hands-on science education programs for children and teachers.

Not-for-profit entity, Hometown Solutions India Foundation deploys Honeywell India’s CSR efforts in five areas, including ‘science and math education’ and ‘housing and shelter’.
