New Delhi: Kotak Mahindra Bank has contributed Rs 5 crore towards Kerala relief.
The money was given to the Chief Minister’s Distress and Relief Fund (CMDRF).
In a statement, the bank said that contribution has been made to aid the Kerala government in their effort to provide relief and rehabilitation work in the flood affected regions.
Employees of Kotak Mahindra Group are also volunteering to contribute a day’s salary to the flood relief operations, it said.
“In this calamitous time, my colleagues across Kotak Mahindra Group and I stand in solidarity with the people of Kerala.
“We have made a financial contribution to Chief Minister’s Distress and Relief Fund to assist the State Government of Kerala in their effort to provide relief and rehabilitation work in the flood affected regions of Kerala,” said Uday Kotak, Managing Director & CEO of the bank.
Kerala has been hit hard by devastating rains and floods leading to massive loss of lives and property.
Besides the central and state agencies, corporates and citizens have come forward to help people affected by the natural calamity.
