NBCC develops Gram Sachivalaya at Harchandpur village in Haryana

New Delhi: With a cost of around Rs 34 lakh, state-owned construction firm NBCC has developed ‘Gramalaya’ – Gram Sachivalaya at Harchandpur village in Haryana under its CSR initiative.

The Gramalaya was inaugurated recently by Former President Pranab Mukherjee and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Harchandpur village is one of the selected villages under the ‘SMARTGRAM’ – smart model villages, which is an initiative of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

SMARTGRAM initiative has been initiated to empower local villagers.

In the Gram Sachivalaya, the official works of Gram
Panchayat can be undertaken. Villagers can showcase their
products and produce. The building has a library and
commercial office space.

Earlier, NBCC constructed a four-storeyed hostel for the widows of Navy personnel. It its making a Sainik rest house at Betul in Madhya Pradesh for all welfare activities related to ex-servicemen, war widows and their dependents.

NBCC (India) Ltd is a Navratna enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. It is into three main segments: Project Management Consultancy (PMC), Real Estate Development and EPC Contracting. It posted a turnover of about Rs 7000 crore last fiscal year.
