India’s apex realtors’ body CREDAI will train 20000 construction workers in this fiscal year in partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation (NCDC).
Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association) started to focus on skill development in 2011 and has provided training to 1.25 lakh construction workers through CSR (corporate social responsibility) funds and under government schemes.
CREDAI President Satish Magar said: “Our members have been at the forefront in extending support for up-skilling of construction workers.”
The real estate and construction sector at any given point of time employs 40 – 45 Million people.
With rapid urbanisation, CREDAI said it is important to train the unskilled people who are migrating to urban centres in search of job.
Established in 1999, CREDAI represents over 12000 developers through 21 states and 203 city chapters across the country.
